BOIL WATER ADVISORY
The water valve replacement project is complete. As a precautionary measure, a boil water advisory is in effect.
The areas affected will be E. 9th St from Mill St to Vine St, E. 8th St from Jackson St to Fairview Ave, and McCrillus St from E. 9th St to E. 6th St, including Jasper Police Department, Jasper Fire Department, 323 E 6th St and 325 E 6th St.
The advisory is being issued to prevent residents from getting sick from potentially harmful germs or chemicals in the water. The Boil Water Advisory will last a minimum of 48 hours, or until two consecutive water samples pass testing.
Residents are asked to boil their water for 5 minutes before human or pet consumption. The water is safe for bathing.
Another notification will be made once the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
Notification of Planned Water Outage
Due to water valve replacement, the Jasper Municipal Water Department will be turning off the water service, weather permitting, on Tuesday, October 7th for a small portion of the city from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Should weather be inclement on Tuesday, the work will be scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

After the work is complete, you may experience discolored water and/or air in your service line. To correct this problem, run your cold water tap for 15-20 minutes, or until it clears.
