Downtown Revitalization Project - Phase II

Project Update as of 5.14.2025

A construction meeting regarding the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project was held on May 14th with representatives of Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and City of Jasper.

Here is a summary of the discussion:

NORTH MAIN – 7^th to 9^th Street

•    Construction will continue between 7th & 9th St.  Both blocks are anticipated to be closed for most of the duration of repair.

•   Week of May 19^th – 7^th and Main intersection’s concrete work to be completed.  North half of German American Bank’s drive will be poured. Traffic will still exit to the south.  Main St. sidewalk demo and stormwater work between 8^th and 9^th Streets.

• Week of May 26^th – Switch work on German American Bank’s drive: South half will be poured while the north half will be reopened exiting north to 8^th St. 

•   Scheduling is dependent on weather and materials.

•    Accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project. German American Bank’s drive thru remains open at this time.

•   Meetings with contractor representatives are held bi-weekly once construction begins. Additional updates will be provided on a bi-weekly basis, or as updates become available.
