Downtown Revitalization Project - Phase II

Project Update as of 4.16.2025

A construction meeting regarding the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project was held on April 16^th with representatives of Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and City of Jasper.

Here is a summary of the discussion:

• Construction crews have finished most work between 3rd and 4th St. Base paving has occurred and the road has been re-opened to traffic. 

• Final surface paving will occur on Wed. 4/23.  The roadway will be shut down from approximately 7am until 5pm.  The contractor asks that you refrain from walking on the roadway during that time.  Sidewalks will remain open.

• Road striping will occur later that week or the following week.  Landscape plantings will be places the week of the 28^th.

• Construction will continue between 7th & 8th St. up to the 8^th St intersection. Eventually, both blocks are anticipated to be closed for most of the duration of repair.

• Week of the 21^st, the contractor will begin forming and pouring curbs on 7^th St. 

• Scheduling is dependent on weather and materials.

• Accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project. German American Bank’s drive thru remains open at this time.

• Meetings with contractor representatives are held bi-weekly once construction begins. Additional updates will be provided on a bi-weekly basis, or as updates become available.
