Downtown Revitalization Project - Phase II

Project Update as of 12.11.2024

A construction meeting regarding the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project was held on December 11th with representatives of Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and City of Jasper.

Here is a summary of the discussion:

• Asphalt paving between 4^th & 5^th street has occurred and the road should be opened by the end of the week.

• Main St between 4^th & 5^th St will be opened back up to traffic on or about Friday 12/13 with base layer of asphalt installed.  A final coat of asphalt and striping will be installed in the Spring when temperatures allow.

• 5^th Street intersection should be opened up by the end of the week and 4^th St intersection should be opened up sometime next week.

• Construction crews will continue with Stormwater work between 3^rd and 4^th St with road closure between the intersections beginning at that time.  This closure is expected to last until around the first week of February.

• As a result of work occurring at the intersection of 3^rd Ave and Main St, intermittent lane closures are expected on 3^rd Ave, using the center lane for West bound traffic.

• Construction will be halted between the weeks of Christmas and New Years, with crews returning to work on Monday January 6^th.

• Around the end of January/beginning of February, the contractor will begin the work associated with Part Two which is Main Street from 7th to 9th with final completion in the Spring 2025.
• Construction will begin between 7^th & 8^th St. and then, once near completion, will move to between 8^th & 9^th.

• Scheduling is dependent on weather and materials.

• Accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project.

• Meetings with contractor representatives are held bi-weekly once construction begins.  Additional updates will be provided on a bi-weekly basis, or as updates become available.
