RESOURCE RECOVERY SITE 

The Resource Recovery Site at the Street Department provides a drop-off site for yard waste and is located next to the Street Department at 305 S Clay Street.

This site is for the residents within the city limits of the City of Jasper ONLY & does not include Contractors.

This site is NOT FOR DISPOSAL OF TRASH, i.e., paint, household trash, etc.  The trash barrels which are located there, are for emptied Yard Waste bags ONLY.

City Employees will randomly check driver's license for address verification.

Hours of Operation

The Recovery Site is open Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (except for Holidays)

Each Year, the Recovery Site will be CLOSED on Saturdays, beginning Dec 1 thru March.

Beginning the first Saturday in April the Recovery Site will be open, the 1^st & 3^rd Saturdays of each month only, excluding Holiday weekends.

Saturday hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Jasper Street Dept would like to remind Residents, that the only acceptable items to be disposed of in the Resource Recovery Site are as follows:      

                     ONLY

• Grass Clippings
• Yard Waste – i.e. flower trimmings, shrub trimmings
• Leaves
• Tree Limbs
• Garden Waste            
• Clean Dirt – small amounts only
• Clean concrete/bricks – small amounts only

                         NOT ALLOWED

• 2X4’S
• Treated/processed lumber (used in construction)
• Landscape Timbers
• Railroad Ties
• Flower pots of any kind
• Construction Debris
• Household Trash
• Paint
• Artificial plants

Bags & Containers must be emptied & properly disposed of. Not left at the Recovery Site.

The Recovery Site is for Residents within the City limits of Jasper only.                                        Neither Contractors nor Business’s may utilize this site.

Should a contractor be preforming work at a City of Jasper Residents’ home, debris may not be disposed of in the Recovery Site.

Our yearly collection of loose leaves is stockpiled and turned periodically to create a great leaf mulch which can be used to enrich gardens, landscaping, flower beds, etc...  In an effort to reduce/reuse yard waste; the Street Department offers leaf mulch free to the public.

Note: When hauling leaf mulch; we request the mulch be covered to avoid blowing out onto the streets as you travel to your destination.
