Traffic
Parking in Downtown Jasper is regulated by 2 HOUR ZONES and ALL DAY ZONES.
2 Hour Zones
- Parking is allowed in a 2 HOUR ZONE, within the same parking block, for up to 2 hours.
- A parking block is considered one side of the street between 2 intersecting streets and each side of the public square.
- Permits do not allow parking in a 2 HOUR ZONE for more than two hours.
- If you leave and return within a 2 hour period, you must park in a different parking block.
All Day Zone
- A permit is required to park all day in an ALL DAY ZONE.
- Parking is permitted for up to two hours without a permit.
Purchasing Permits
Permits can be purchased at Jasper City Hall, Clerk-Treasurer's Office.
The cost is $30 per calendar quarter or $100 for a calendar year.
Enforcement
Parking regulations will be enforced in all weather conditions by the Jasper Police Department, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fines for violating the regulated parking zones will be as follows:
*$10.00 fine at time of 1st notice
*$30.00 fine at time of 2nd notice which is in the form of an invoice mailed, within 2-6 weeks after violation occurred, to the address of the registered owner of the vehicle provided to Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Fines can be paid at the Jasper Police Department.
At the discretion of the Police Chief and the City Attorney, the parking violation may be filed in court and the owner or violator, upon conviction, shall be responsible for a $50.00 fine, court costs, and attorney fees, if applicable.
Appeals
Any violation may be appealed to the Board of Public Works & Safety at any regular meeting.
