Congratulations to Mayor-Elect Dean Vonderheide

Congratulations to Mayor-Elect Dean Vonderheide!

Dean Vonderheide was elected as Jasper’s next mayor on Wednesday, December 26, by a Republican Precinct Caucus. He will serve the remaining year on the term of outgoing Mayor Terry Seitz who is leaving office on January 6 to accept a position with United States Senator-elect Mike Braun.

“I’m delighted to be elected through the caucus to be the next mayor of Jasper,” Vonderheide said. “We’ve got a great momentum going in the city and I am going to keep that momentum going.” Still in his first term as Jasper Council-at Large member, Vonderheide also has served on the Jasper Public Library and Dubois County Contractual Library Boards since 2011, currently serving as Jasper Public Library Board president. He served in executive positions with Kimball International for 31 years.

Vonderheide expressed a desire to continue working on all that is going on in the city as well as with other municipal and county governments. He plans to be sworn in on Friday, December 28, 2018 at City Hall during the swearing-in ceremony being held for county officials elected into office in November.
