Dubois County's older Americans, age 55 and older, can enjoy the many activities offered at the Arnold F. Habig Community Center, Older Americans. Located in the beautiful home donated to the City of Jasper by Mrs. Barbara Habig and her late husband, Arnold F. Habig, many older Americans can enhance their lives through the daily use of this facility.

ACTIVITIES


Seniors enjoy cards in the Game Room.
This facility offers a very wide variety of passive and active recreational activities for older Americans on a daily basis in the Arnold F. Habig Community Center. Some of the Center's many activities include: Exercise Class,Card Tourneys, Quilting Bees, Bingo, Guest Speakers, Corn Hole, Wii Games, Book Club, Blood Pressure Checks, Parties, Craft Sessions, Catered Meals, One-Day Trips and a Computer Lab.

In addition, many visitors utilize the exercise room which includes: Treadmills, Recumbent Bicycles and a Cybex Weight Machine. An inside track is available for walkers during cold weather. A cedar walking path around the perimeter of the property is also available for walker's enjoyment.

OATS VAN (Older American Transportation Service)


Many people rely on the OATS van for their transporation needs.
The OATS van began a partnership with Ride Solution effective January 1st, 2008. Ride Solution is a coordinated Public Transportation service established to provide safe, dependable and affordable transportation to all who reside in our service area. Vans are clean, wheelchair accessible and smoke-free. Drivers are specially trained, friendly, safe and courteous. Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
