WHEEL THROWING FOR BEGINNERS (HS and Adults)

Mondays, February 5 - March 12, 2018 -- 5:30-7:00 PM (6 classes)

Enjoy an evening filled with clay, wheel-throwing and hand-building on the beginners level. During this class we will learn how to create three-dimensional forms and wheel-throwing techniques. Limit 8 participants. 

FEE: $60 plus $20 materials fee

INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED WHEEL THROWING (HS and Adults)

Learning from the ground up, each week we will learn about a different element of art (line, shape, space, color, value, and texture) and then create a 2D art project focused on it.

COLLAGES WITH A MESSAGE (HS and Adults

Saturdays, March 3 and 10, 2018 -- 9:00-11:30 AM (2 classes)

Learn how to make collages that are far beyond pictures of your favorite things or other obvious ways to create images. Techniques in collaging will be demonstrated, as well as, how to do low-relief applications. The works will be completed in 2 sessions. More than one collage can be made. Many materials will be provided and you can bring your own too. Bring old books, magazines, photos, and ANYTHING you wish. These will not be decorative pieces but work that carries a message. Got some things you want to say? Here is your chance to do it in a new way.

DRAWING TREES WITH TREES (HS and Adults)

Saturday, March 17, 2018 -- 10:00-12:30 PM (1 class)

This is a class we have offered before and it has been very successful. Bill Whorrall will show you how to use ink and water with sticks to create incredibly interesting and beautiful landscape/tree drawings. This is what the artist is doing right now so he is totally into it! Wear old clothes in case of a spill.

HANDBUILDING CLAY (Grades 1st - 5th)

Making an array of 3 Dimensional projects from Clay! We will build and glaze decorative and useful pieces of art.

PEN & INK (HS and Adults)

Tuesdays, February 6 - March 13, 2018 -- 6:00 PM-8:00 PM (6 classes)

This class will deal with the use of pen, brush, and India ink drawings. This could cover anything from cartooning to portrait to architecture renderings. The subject matter is endless. Open to high school and adult students. No experience is required.

VIOLIN FOR BEGINNERS (Middle School - Adults)

Ever wanted to try out the violin? Join us for this introductory class. We will focus on the basic techniques of playing the violin. No previous knowledge needed!

Please bring your own violin. This class will take place at the Jasper Arts Center.

GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS (Middle School - Adults)

Thursdays, February 8 - March 15, 018 -- 7:30 PM-8:30 PM (6 classes)

In this class, we will learn basic chords and strumming patterns for the complete beginner level. Song choices will be based on participants' music preferences. Come jam with us!

Please bring your own guitar. This class will take place at the Jasper Arts Center.

WATERCOLOR WINTER WONDERLAND (HS and Adults)

Thursdays, February 8 - March 15, 2018 -- 6:00 PM-8:00 PM (6 classes)

This class will deal with winter landscape scenes executed in watercolor. Open to high school and adult students, this class will deal with contrasting of cool colors and use of white space to achieve a frosty series of paintings. No experience necessary. Just bring your creativity and imagination and the rest will fall into place.

FEE: $60
